Southern Gutters FL installs, cleans and storm-repairs gutters for the estates of Golden Beach, the small gated town at the very top of Miami-Dade County. Our crew covers the 22 miles from our North Lauderdale base in about 35 minutes, crossing in from Hallandale Beach along Ocean Boulevard. The one rule here is salt: homes on the ocean side of A1A take direct Atlantic spray, and ordinary hardware does not last.

Arranging crew access in a gated town on Ocean Boulevard

Golden Beach controls who drives in, so every visit starts with the owner or estate manager adding our crew and vehicle to the approved list. Many homes here are second residences, and we are used to working with property managers, sending photos and a written quote rather than meeting the owner on site.

On a tall tile-roof estate we set ladders with standoff stabilizers on the roof edge, never on the tile, and protect pavers, pool decks and landscaping below. Debris is bagged and hauled out, not left at the curb.

Atlantic salt spray and big tile roofs: what fails first

The Ralston brothers laid out Golden Beach in the mid-1920s and it incorporated in 1929. Today 961 residents (2020 Census) live on a narrow strip between the Atlantic and the Intracoastal Waterway, with the town line against Hallandale Beach to the north. Homes are large, often two stories with barrel or flat tile roofs that shed a lot of water onto a few long gutter runs.

The whole town is about a mile long and four blocks wide, roughly a third of a square mile of land, and the 2020 Census counted just 175 households. Town rules bar high-rise and commercial construction, so the skyline is single-family estates only, and every roof takes wind straight off the water. Even Intracoastal-side lots live in salt air daily, which is what decides whether copper makes more sense than aluminum.

Rusted gutter screws streaking white fascia on a salt-exposed Golden Beach estate
Plain-steel fasteners are the first thing salt air destroys, leaving rust streaks and loosening the gutter on oceanfront homes.

Salt attacks the weakest metal first. Plain-steel screws and rivets rust, leave orange streaks down white fascia and let hangers loosen, while unpainted cut edges on aluminum turn chalky and pit. On oceanfront lots this can show up within a few seasons. The fix is stainless-steel hardware throughout, painted exposed edges and, on many estates, a move to copper.

Big roof areas also need capacity. A standard 5-inch gutter can overflow on a broad tile roof in a summer cloudburst, so we often specify 6-inch or 7-inch oversized gutters with larger downspouts.

Oceanfront and Intracoastal lots from the Hallandale Beach line south

We work on both sides of Ocean Boulevard, from the beachfront estates to the homes backing onto the Intracoastal. Because the town borders Hallandale Beach, our crews often come down from Broward work the same day. As part of Miami-Dade, Golden Beach falls inside the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, and our installs follow that standard for attachment.

Since 1981 every road from A1A into town but one has been closed, so each trip passes the police guardhouse at the single entrance. Golden Beach mail uses ZIP 33160, and the town meets Sunny Isles Beach on the south and Aventura across the Intracoastal to the west. Work we quote most here:

  • Copper and heavy-gauge aluminum replacements on oceanfront estates.
  • Stainless fastener and hanger swaps on runs streaked with rust.
  • Oversized gutters and downspouts for broad barrel-tile roofs.
  • Post-storm make-safe visits with photo documentation for insurers.

Eric Clapton named an album after a house number on Ocean Boulevard; for our crew it is simply the street every Golden Beach job starts from.

Debris comes out by hand so nothing gets washed down the downspout.

From North Lauderdale our crew takes I-95 south to Hallandale Beach Boulevard, heads east to A1A and follows Ocean Boulevard south into Golden Beach.

“Whole house gutter installation. Southern Gutters gets 5 stars! Chance was prompt, professional, knowledgeable & upfront from start to finish and in-between. He provided a detailed quote & responded to all my many questions with honest answers and always with a positive attitude! He arrived when he said he would, did the job as he said he would and followed up after installation! All of this was done contact-free which was great! The outcome was awesome! I had 3 other options and I'm so happy I went with Southern Gutters!”

“Chance and his crew were excellent, wish I could rate them higher! The quote was very reasonable, easy to work with, they were on time and communicated well, the quality of work was worth the cost, and I would recommend them and use them again for any future gutter work!”

Which gutter systems hold up on the Atlantic side of A1A?

These are the services Golden Beach owners and estate managers ask about most, chosen for direct ocean exposure rather than inland conditions.

What Golden Beach property owners ask us

Are copper gutters worth it for an oceanfront home in Golden Beach?

For many estates on the Atlantic side of A1A, yes. Copper resists salt corrosion and develops a protective patina, and it suits the architecture of many larger Golden Beach homes. Aluminum with stainless hardware and painted edges is also a sound choice and costs less. We explain both in the free estimate and let the roof, style and budget decide.

How do you get past the gate to work in Golden Beach?

Golden Beach has a single road in from A1A, past a police guardhouse, so the owner or property manager adds our crew and vehicle to the town's approved visitor list for the scheduled day. If you live elsewhere part of the year, we coordinate entirely with your manager and send photos and a written report after each visit.
