Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is roughly 20 minutes and 9 miles east of our North Lauderdale base, nearly all of it on Commercial Boulevard. We clean and repair gutters here for condo associations, small motel owners and canal-street homeowners. This seasonal beach town has 6,770 housing units for 6,198 residents, and its low-rise, mid-century buildings sit directly in the onshore wind, so salt and blown sand reach every roof edge.
From Anglin's Pier to the canal streets west of A1A
We cover the whole town: the motels and garden condos along A1A, the shops and restaurants near Anglin's Fishing Pier at the end of Commercial Boulevard, and the single-family canal streets toward the Intracoastal. The town wraps around Sea Ranch Lakes and runs up to the Pompano Beach line, and we schedule those neighbors on the same days.
Closer in, El Prado Park sits on the ocean along El Mar Drive just east of Town Hall, and the motels and garden condos on the blocks around it are the classic low-rise jobs: short runs, flat-roof scuppers, and sand in every outlet after a windy week. The annexed north end is different, since owners there kept the taller county height limit, so a few larger condo buildings need association-style scheduling.
Typical work here: scupper clearing on motel roofs, stainless fastener swaps along A1A, seasonal cleanings for owners who winter elsewhere, and seam repairs on canal homes. Commercial Boulevard carries our trucks straight from North Lauderdale over the Intracoastal bridge and into town.

From our North Lauderdale base the crew drives east on Commercial Boulevard the whole way, crossing the Intracoastal bridge into Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

“After calling many places and getting the response, sorry we don’t remove gutters unless you are buying new ones with us, Chance from Southern Gutters FL said yes. Chance response was prompt and the price was right. He never pushed the sale speech for us to get new gutters. He was on time, very professional, and courteous. He removed the gutters I asked for and took the garbage with him. The job was done smoothly. I highly recommend his services.”
“Great company, they came on time and worked through the hot Florida sun. Great selection of colors to choose from. The gutters give my house a fresh new look .”
Why 1950s–60s low-rise buildings by the reef wear gutters out
Lauderdale-by-the-Sea first incorporated in 1927, lost its charter in 1933 and reincorporated in 1947, growing up as a small-scale resort of two- and three-story motels, garden apartments and condos. In 1973 the town capped new buildings at roughly four stories, about 44 feet, and that rule still shapes the skyline. A short building puts every gutter run in the direct path of the onshore wind.
The reef is part of the picture too. Living coral lies within about 100 yards of the beach, close enough that the county named the town the Shore Diving Capital of Florida in 1997, and nothing between the surf and the first row of roofs slows the spray.
That wind carries salt and fine sand. Grit settles in the gutter trough and holds moisture against the metal, salt crust forms around screws and hangers, and older painted steel components rust through. Sea grape leaves and coconut palm fronds add bulk, and on flat-roof motels the scuppers fill with sand after a windy week.

West of A1A, mid-century single-family homes on the canals have shingle or flat-tile roofs and gutters that were often replaced in pieces. Seams and corners are the weak spots, and our leaking gutter repair work here usually starts there.
Can you service my gutters while I'm away for the season?
Yes, and many of our Lauderdale-by-the-Sea customers are not in town when we work. Owners and managers send access details by phone or email, we confirm the date in advance, and we send photos of the gutters before and after along with any repair notes.
For motels and condos we work around guests and residents: early starts, ladders set away from walkways, and debris bagged instead of blown toward the pool or the street. Windy days on the beach side can push a ladder job to the next morning, and we will tell you if that happens.

What Lauderdale-by-the-Sea property owners ask us
Why do gutters in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea fill with sand?
Most buildings in town sit under the 1973 height cap of roughly four stories and stand close to the beach, so onshore wind lifts fine sand onto roofs and into gutters and scuppers. Sand holds water and salt against the aluminum and hardware. Cleaning removes it, and checking fasteners during each visit catches corrosion early.
Do you work on small motels and guest properties?
Yes. We clean gutters and flat-roof scuppers on small hospitality properties along A1A and near Anglin's Fishing Pier, and schedule around check-in and check-out where we can. You get a written quote first, and the crew bags debris rather than blowing it around pools, walkways or parked cars.
