Southern Gutters FL handles gutter cleaning in Southwest Ranches, FL, along with oversized and copper installs and underground drainage, about 30 minutes (18 miles) from our North Lauderdale base. Residents formed this town in 2000 to keep a semirural way of life, so properties run an acre or more, and one estate roof, a barn and a detached garage can add up to more gutter footage than three subdivision homes.
What Should You Expect When We Visit a Southwest Ranches Acreage?
Big properties need a little planning. When you book, tell us which buildings are included, where the truck can safely park, which gates to use and whether horses or dogs will be loose. We keep debris off pastures and riding rings and close every gate behind us.
- Estate home: clean or install long runs in sections, checking pitch over the full length.
- Barn, stable or garage: clear hay dust, nesting material and leaves; check outlets crushed by equipment.
- Drainage: walk the property with you to see where water collects, then plan buried lines toward a ditch, swale or low area.
- If the property has a septic drain field, we route discharge well away from it.

Services Sized for Southwest Ranches Estates and Barns
The cards below reflect the scale of work out here. Estate owners often ask about copper for its look and long life; we will lay out the trade-offs against aluminum honestly in the written quote. For the drainage side, our guide to underground downspout drainage costs and factors explains what drives the scope on a large lot.
Acre-Plus Lots From Sunshine Ranches to Rolling Oaks: The Gutter Challenge
The March 14, 2000 vote and the June 6 charter that followed were partly about avoiding annexation into Pembroke Pines. Zoning today is almost entirely rural residential and agricultural, the smallest lots are about an acre, and the 2020 Census counted just 7,607 residents across the whole town. That low density is exactly why gutter work here is measured in long runs and outbuildings.
Southwest Ranches pulled together several older rural areas, including Sunshine Ranches, Rolling Oaks, Green Meadow, Country Estates and Ivanhoe Estates. Homes range from older ranch houses to large custom estates with tall tile or standing-seam metal roofs, and most properties include at least one outbuilding.
Roof size is the first issue. A big hip roof with several tile valleys can send a torrent into one corner during a summer storm, which is why 6-inch or 7-inch gutters and 3x4 or larger downspouts are common recommendations here. Long runs also need careful pitch so water does not sit in the middle.

The land is the second. It is flat, with pastures, canals and drainage ditches, and a downspout that dumps onto a lawn can leave a soggy patch for days. Buried lines that carry water to a ditch or swale keep driveways, barn aisles and foundations drier. Mature oaks and palms on these lots mean regular cleaning still matters, even with oversized gutters.
Covering the Ranches Along Griffin Road and Sheridan Street
We work throughout the town, from properties along Griffin Road and Stirling Road to the neighborhoods off Sheridan Street, including Sunshine Ranches, Rolling Oaks, Green Meadow and the estate streets near the Weston and Pembroke Pines lines. Trips here often combine with jobs in Davie and Cooper City.
Local knowledge here is about trails and ditches. Sunshine Ranches has its own ten-acre equestrian park with trails, pens and an arena, and the town keeps adding riding trails, so plenty of owners keep horses and want barn gutters handled with the house. In Rolling Oaks and other wooded pockets, mature oaks set the cleaning calendar or justify a guard. Lots in Green Meadow, Country Estates and Ivanhoe Estates often front a canal or drainage ditch, the natural endpoint for a buried downspout line.
Many custom estates are two stories with tall eaves, so we bring longer ladders with standoffs, and Griffin Road off I-75 is our usual way in.

From our North Lauderdale base the crew takes I-595 west to I-75 south, exits at Griffin Road and heads east into Southwest Ranches.

“So far so good. They haven’t completed the work yet but I have really enjoyed working with the owner. Will update on how the job goes!”
“Chance and his team were great. The gutter installation was timely, efficient and cost as quoted, even after improvement changes. Would definitely recommend Southern Gutters for any install or repair.”
What Southwest Ranches property owners ask us
Can you install one continuous gutter on a very long Southwest Ranches roofline?
Yes. Southwest Ranches estates often have walls far longer than a subdivision home, and because we roll-form seamless aluminum on site, we can make very long runs in one piece, which removes the seams where leaks usually start. On extremely long walls we may still divide the run with a high point and two downspouts so water does not have to travel the full length.
Where should downspouts drain on a big rural lot?
Ideally toward a ditch, swale or low part of the property, well away from the foundation, barn entrances and any septic drain field. Southwest Ranches lots are flat, mostly an acre or larger and often edged by canals or drainage ditches, so we often run buried lines to get the water there, and we walk the property with you before planning the layout.
